The Type 18 can is made of metal with an aluminum pull-tab. Pull the tab to remove the inner part of the top, the outer edge remains attached to the can. The top is not replaceable, but there is usually a plastic reclosure lid used to reseal the can. There are usually three balls per can but two and four ball cans are also common. Although still in use today, the Type 18 container was predominantly replaced by the Type 20 plastic tube that Wilson introduced in 1984.
